The consortium of the project TuRBO-SUDOE attended on September 26th, 27th 2016 at the Hotel Santemar the Seminar of approved projects management in the first call for projects of the V INTERREG-SUDOE Program. This seminar, organized by the SUDOE Joint Secretariat, worked to inform project beneficiaries of the technical, administrative and economic management mechanisms of Interreg SUDOE projects. The beneficiaries of different projects also had the opportunity to interact in the event.

The TuRBO-SUDOE project, coordinated by the University of Burgos, was approved in the call for projects of the V INTERREG-SUDOE Program 2016-19 for its co-financing, by the European Commission through FEDER funds. The INTERREG call is a financial instrument that promotes research and technological transfer in the field of transnational cooperation within the SUDOE region, which includes the territories of Portugal, Spain and the French transpirenaic districts, with a commitment of funding that reaches up to 75% of the overall project budget.

The TuRBO-SUDOE project, which is part of the Research and Innovation axis, has an overall budget of € 1,624,792, of which € 1,218,594 will be co-financed by the European Commission. The project aims to bridge the gap between the research world and the business world by adapting R & D to the needs of three strategic sectors in southwestern Europe: Agri-food, automotive and energy. The process proposed by the project consists of the preparation of ten Transfer Agents or Transference Brokers (TB), global experts in training and technology transfer. They will act as intermediaries between the research and the company and will create ten roadmaps to ensure the adaptation of R & D to the needs of companies in each sector. The TuRBO-SUDOE project has as beneficiaries entities, in addition to the OTRI-OTC of the University of Burgos, University of Málaga, University of Aveiro, University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro, Centro Tecnolóxico Foundation for Efficiency and Sustainability Enerxética, Business Federation of Agri-food of the Valencian Community, Cluster Association of Automation of Aragon, Mecanic Vallée and Knowledge Foundation Market Barcelona.
